I hold the belief that there exists a certain supernatural element in the making of art.  Whether an artist makes something entirely intuitive, or through a process of rationalization, there is a magic about the combination of ideas, materials, and process that go into the creation of a work of art.

What exactly is this supernatural element?  For me it is the expression of and idea or perspective through materials to create an exciting new(?) possibility.  Does a magic exist in every piece of art that I generate? I can say with certainty it does not.  When it is in my work, I know it.  When it is absent I know it too.

Can an education in the arts foster the development of the magic?  I can say with certainty that it does.
